Adopt modern technology to protect religious shrines : DC

Mangalore, July 25, 2013 : Deputy Commissioner N Prakash  has emphasized the need to protect  the wealth in the religious shrines of  Dakshina Kannada by making use of modern technology.

He was addressing a  meeting of administrative officers of prominent temples of the district  as per the directive of the Home Ministry.

The meeting discussed in length the various security measures to be taken by  ancient temples and other shrines in the district. 

The Deputy Commissioner informed the meeting that a comprehensive report would be submitted to the government if the  temple authorities furnished the necessary information.

The meeting also discussed  the  issue of insurance cover as well as appointment of armed guards to the shrines. KA Dayanand, Additional DC and officials of the Religious and Endowment Department were present.
